ADEQ wins ECOS State Innovation Award

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality received a State Innovation Award from the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) in 2018 for their Arizona Water Watch application.  The app, which was built using Survey 123, is a crowd sourcing mobile app that allows any citizen to report on water quality issues within Arizona.


NSGIC GIS 101 Webinar Series

NSGIC recently started a monthly web series titled "GIS 101," which gives a non-technical overview of GIS topics for people without GIS backgrounds.  The webinars do require a NSGIC login account.  However, free limited-access accounts are available.  The link below opens the webinar on Orthoimagery.  However, there is a webinar on Redistricting also available in their Library.


Changes to the National Land Cover Database

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) just released in May 2019 an update to the National Land Cover Database (NLCD), which details land cover change for the lower 48 states.
