The first map of Americas food supply chain is mind boggling

The University of Illinois developed a map showing the flow of food between U.S. counties to show how far food travels, and from where, before reaching our plates.  During their study, they identified "core counties," which are most central to the food supply network, finding Maricopa County as one of them.
